Chrome is a soft metal, so to ensure it keeps its shiny finish for years to come you need to clean it properly

Use a clean, soft damp cloth only. Do not use any cleaning products or detergents as this may cause surface deterioration

The glazed finish should be cleaned after use by applying a suitable and non-abrasive cream cleaner. Use a sponge or damp cloth and rinse thoroughly with clean water. It is not advised to use aggressive cleaners or bleach as this can cause discolouration of toilet seats

Always clean using mild soap and water, use a soft cloth or sponge to avoid scratching the surface. Please take extra care around joins and areas where a panel may have been cut as water ingress can warp the panels

Melamine, vinyl and foil wrapped doors

In most cases marks can be removed using a soft damp cloth. Persistent marks can be removed using a non-silicone based furniture cleaner. Hot soapy water should be avoided. NEVER use a solvent or abrasive cleaner as this can cause permanent damage

High Gloss

Avoid using cleaning products that contain ingredients such as acetone, alcohol, and bleach. Use a soft cotton microfibre cloth with water and soft soap

A heated towel rail or radiator must be at least 12 inches from all bathroom furniture. Furniture placed too close can cause warping and discolouration

There are several reasons why:

  • The internal waste needs removed and cleaned to ensure removal of product and hair build up
  • It could be the wrong type of shower waste fitted
  • It could be too many bends in the waste pipe which can slow the flow

It could be the wrong fill valve or ballcock has been fitted or it could be a chocked/blocked water inlet

It is a WC with no box rim, i.e., the open rim around the edge of the toilet. Instead, there is a flush manifold which provides a powerful flush. The benefits of rimless is being very easy to clean and less areas for germs to hide and breed

  • Where its is possible to hide the pipework, you may wish to consider either a wall hung vanity unit or wall hung basin with a semi pedestal chrome trap

It is recommended to have an extractor of some kind in all bathrooms to expel steamy damp air and many bathroom products warranties insist this is present to validate the guarantee

Excessive Damp and condensation can cause bathroom furniture to “blow” and mirrors to “silver”. It is always recommended to wipe any excess moisture from surfaces after showering or bathing

Yes, all ranges sold by FBS are not only covered by a statutory warranty, but most are covered by the manufacturer’s warranty but will vary across the brands and product. All range from 2 years up to 30 years and many also have lifetime guarantees on certain product components

It may be that the shower valve is not compatible with the water system in your home. A plumber should be able to provide further advice but essentially:

  • Dual Head Bar Valve – Requires a minimum 0.5 – 1 bar pressure (15ft head)
  • Single Bar Valve – Requires a minimum of 0.3 bar pressure ( 9ft head)
  • Concealed Valve – Requires a minimum of 0.5 – 1 bar pressure

We would advise you to consult a plumbing or heating engineer as there are MANY reasons this could happen.

This is probably the result of using an aggressive spray cleaner that contains bleach and has attacked the chrome surface. This is not covered by a manufacturer warranty so remember to use only mild detergent and polish well with a soft cloth
